About

Garrison Leykam is recognized as a groundbreaker in reality TV as Host and Producer of the “DINERS” television show that aired on Connecticut Public Television (CPTV). His theme motorcycle from the show was featured in the prestigious MotoStars: Celebrities + Motorcycles exhibit and companion coffee table book alongside bikes owned by Brad Pitt, Carlos Mencia, Keith Urban, Peter Fonda and other celebrities as well as bands including Journey, Rush and Foreigner. As author of Classic Diners of Connecticut, Garrison motorcycled the twenty thousand miles of highways and main streets that crisscross the state of Connecticut to share with readers, hungry travelers and locals a sampling of the more than one hundred diners that dot the Nutmeg State roadways. The self-described existential offspring of George Plimpton’s “participatory journalism” and Anne Frank’s belief that, “life is either a daring adventure or nothing,” Garrison’s background includes:

• Producer and engineer for record industry giant London Records during the British wave

• President of his own record label

• Performer at New York City’s iconic CBGBs and Nashville’s famous Bluebird Café

• Senior leadership executive in such major companies as Grand Circle Travel, DSL.net and MCI Telecommunications

• Featured on ESPN2’s “Extreme Magazine” TV show

• Host and Producer of the television documentary “COMIC ON A HALF SHELL” about his experiences learning to become a stand-up comedian and appearing at NYC’s legendary Gotham Comedy Club
